09.15.2024 | Argren Faire
Riverwest
Riverwest held its first (annual?) Argren Faire Sunday September 15. Black Husky Brewing and neighboring Garden park were transformed into the world of Argren, the mythical world of Milwaukee author Ross Hightower's Spirit Song Saga.
The festival featured many vendors, a medieval drag parade, combat ring, feats of strength, food trucks, many pints of ale, and of course costumed dogs.
Hopefully returning, and expanding, next year Argren Faire was a great way to step out of the real world for a few hours to relax on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon.
08.27.2024 | “Field of Play”
Wauwatosa welcomed the latest mural to grace North Ave Tuesday when the Brewers and The Little Village Play Cafe unveiled “Field of Play” by Whitney Nettles.
The mural is the second in a series of five sponsored by the Brewers as part of their Beyond the Diamond community initiative. “Field of Play” really aligns with Little Village and their ideals showcasing playfulness, teamwork and most importantly community along with the iconic Racing Sausages.
Attendees could make their own baseball card, design a pennant to be part of a larger installation at American Family Field, and make slime that even contained infield sand. Soon to be resident food truck Cocina Filipina and neighborhood friend Joy Ice Cream Social were on hand for refreshments.
Despite stifling heat and humidity, gale winds and a sudden thunderstorm, because of course there would be one, the launch was truly a show of community.
06.15.2024 | Summer Soulstice
